My website has been overhauled by the talented Aida de l’Isle! It’s now in a new format that allows me to add and remove images myself, and the site also adjusts automatically to an appropriate size for different electronic devices. I’m still at www.saratabbert.com.
Of course there are drawbacks to taking on more responsibility . . I realize I have to spend some time making the format of my images more uniform and work on some other details, but I think the site is straightforward and I love that I can change it whenever I want to.
First Friday is just around the corner and I’d better finish the pressing studio work before fiddling on the computer. It’s been a busy week. I leave for Anchorage soon, and there are always those last few pieces I’d really like to finish up before loading the car.
The soundtrack for this show has been interesting. I spent most of last week lost in the amazing and frustrating novel Cloud Atlas, and now moved on to Bolano’s The Savage Detectives. I download audiobooks from the statewide library system, which limits my choices but also makes me take on books I probably wouldn’t read otherwise. I wonder what (if any) impact of the things I listen to have on my artwork. I spent an entire winter carving big panels for the new school in Talkeetna while listening to nothing but Swedish murder mysteries. . . . .
Better get back to work. I hope to see some of you at Fire Island on Friday!
