Sunday I head out to the village of Golovin, a small community on the Seward peninsula about 65 miles east of Nome. I’ll be working with their school for two weeks on mosaics.
Packing is a bit complicated. This is my first AIS project that involves flying everything in, and there is no running to the hardware store to pick up something I forgot! I also have a quick turnaround after this project – after a stop at home to unload and celebrate Thanksgiving, I then load up the car to head down to Glennallen to do a similar project. Lists have become VERY important. (Also concerning is the weight of supplies! Yikes!)
Those concerns aside, I’m really excited to see a new part of the state and work with another small school. I continue my evil mission to make mosaics with as many kids as possible in communities across the state!
