Time flies when you are in the studio! I realized the other day that I had not updated this in quite a while. Here’s a tour of the studio to justify my absence:
A plate for Homer’s Bunnell Street Gallery. They have artists from all over the state paint platters for their spring fundraiser.
Time to finish the prints I started in Buenos Aires in November. . .
. . . . .on the beautiful Conrad press.
Carved panels waiting to be painted,
and more awaiting color and finish.
Upstairs, birch branches are turning into light fixtures for the “One Tree” project show at the Well Street Gallery in Fairbanks this April.
We also had an exciting week of weather – near-record snow and wind buried Fairbanks under two feet of new snow. A planned skijor club cabin trip to the White Mountains had to be canceled as the troopers and BLM were busy enough rescuing travelers on the trails who were caught unprepared. Here’s a view towards my studio in the storm:
Today, however, the weather is sunny and bright and it is high time to close the studio and the computer and head out with some dog friends to see what we can find on the trails.
Here’s a link to a friend’s video of some skijoring adventures, if you want to see what all the fuss is about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obVVGbbcAl4
